Nutraceuticals Can Bridge The Gap Between Food And Medicine

JOHANNESBURG, South Africa – 15 May 2019. In a world filled with perpetual stressors, our mental and physical well-being are often left vulnerable. Inadequate diets and poor lifestyle choices, coupled with the lack of exercise place a further burden on our brains and bodies. Nutritional supplements can be the allies our bodies need to reclaim their health, says Head of Healthcare at Best 4ä, Kevin Francis.

“People used to think of nutritional supplements as something of a luxury item only ever used by people who were always too busy to eat and exercise right- namely people that worked in white collar jobs. But the varying ailments we face today are not focused on a particular group of people. And most of them can be combated with the right nutritional supplements”, Francis says.

According to a World Economic Forum and World Health Organisation report, noncommunicable diseases (NCDs) kill 41 million people each year, equivalent to 71% of all deaths globally. Each year, 15 million people die from NCD between the ages of 30 and 69 years; over 85% of these “premature” deaths occur in low- and middle-income countries.

Whilst a survey conducted by the Associated Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ASSOCHAM) found that 68% of working women in the age bracket of 21-52 years were found to be afflicted with lifestyle ailments such as obesity, depression, chronic backache, diabetes and hypertension.

“Best 4ä has a range of affordable nutraceuticals which targets specific chronic diseases and assists in warding off illnesses related to stress and poor lifestyle choices, such as Best 4ä Fatigue Relief, Brain Power, Longevity and Lung Care,” says Francis.

Best 4ä products have a SAHPRA (South African Health Products Regulatory Authority) registry number and National Pharmaceutical Product Index (NAPPI) code, making them eligible to be claimed from your medical savings accounts.

“The Best 4ä range of nutritional supplements are manufactured according to technologically advanced standards, with the finest quality ingredients being sourced globally. By collaborating with experienced professionals including cardiologists, endocrinologists, specialists’ physicians, pharmacists and biochemists, we created unique formulations that target specific disease and ailments that face age groups from children to elderly,” Francis says.

Every product in the Best 4ä range also contain Phytosynä, a proprietary blend that has been scientifically formulated to aid with digestion, thereby helping the body to absorb more nutrients effectively.

Other Best 4ä products include Antioxidant Complex; Allergy Prevention – Adults; Allergy Prevention – Kids; Arthritis Relief; Night Cramps Relief and Period Cramps Relief.

“Modern day living has accelerated the number of illnesses we and our families are exposed to. But through the administration and affordability of nutritional supplements, we are able to better equip our bodies to mitigate the risk of falling sick due to a compromised immune system. Nutraceuticals bridge the gap between food and medicine required by our minds and bodies to function optimally,” Francis concludes.
